With its distinctive reddish color, its distinctive powerful shape and being reared on traditional, extensive grass meadowland, the ‘Retinto’ breed is one of the most highly valued of all Spanish cattle. With more than 6,000 animals, Cádiz has the largest herd after Badajoz and the ‘Retinto’ beef, from this pure, native breed, has a distinctive quality mark from the Ministry of Agriculture. Its production accords with a high standard of sustainability and the appropriate use of natural resources.
