The Bay is facing a revolution in public mobility with the construction of a metropolitan tramway linking the towns of Chiclana, San Fernando, Cádiz and Puerto Real along with a rail connection to El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez, which will also have a local tram. This new form of transport will be built between 2011 and 2012 and will have 35 kilometres of new track, 28 tram stops and will link the two major cities of Cádiz and Jerez in just 29 minutes-half the time it takes today.
