Simulation of the new bridge linking the Bay of Cádiz to the center of the capital.

The new bridge over the bay

In 2012, the Bay of Cádiz will operate the highest bridge designed in Europe, with 180 meters in the top of its two towers, and the widest light opening in Spain, with 540 meters between piles. Design and building will be an outstandig reference in the spanish and generally worldwide engineering, thanks to its capacity and a railway prepared for the metropolitan tram. The work ́s public initial budget shows its importance: more than 300 million euro, the biggest investment of the spanish Goverment over the last few years. The new infrastructure will be the third access into Cádiz and the first connecting directly the Bay to the city ́s heart.
